This review is from: Wahl 4290 Deep-tissue Percussion Therapeutic Massager, Blue/Silver (Health and Beauty) Although I though I could skimp a bit a get a Wahl that was as strong as a Thumper, (I'd tried a Thumper and they are strong) the Wahl's better than the Homedics or Sharper Image, but not as strong as the Thumper. I ended up buying a Thumper and gave the Wahl to my wife, who can't use it at full speed. So if you are working out alot as an older person, the Wahl might not do it for you. Regardless, massage is a great way to avoid NSAIDs and more serious pain meds. This review is from: Wahl 4290 Deep-tissue Percussion Therapeutic Massager, Blue/Silver (Health and Beauty) I already own the Handheld Percussion Massager Tapping Pro which I also bought here on Amazon. I purchased the Wahl 4290 because it said "Deep-tissue" in the name. However, although it is a decent massager, it has mediocre power. The tapping Pro is about 10-15% stronger than the Wahl 4290. Also the Wahl, at it's highest setting, is just not capable of giving a true "deep-tissue" massage. Nevertheless, the Wahl can still provide a mild to moderate vibrating massage which is all some people may want or need. I was looking for something stronger and that's why I was a little dissapointed. For comparison you may want to check out the Handheld Percussion Massager Tapping Pro which is a little better and within the same price range as the Wahl. This is a great product that helps you to sleep. It is not a strong side effect causing sleep aid like most over the counter products. Melatonin is natural to the body and will not cause you to be drowsy the next day. My wife and I love this stuff and take anywhere from a quarter to a full dropper depending upon how much help we need. Another thing that is important to know when taking any natural supplements is that you should keep it in your mouth, preferably under tongue, for a few mintues to increase the effectiveness. Also try to take it when you have not eaten or drank anything for at least 15 minutes. It's a little extra work to take it right, but taking something that is natural to the body and does not have side effects is worth it. I don't take melatonin unless I cant sleep at all or if I am not tired but it starts to work pretty fast no matter how much I take. I guess since its a liquid it affects you quicker since I have used the pill form before. My 3 year old who is autistic has problems sleeping and staying asleep and as far as getting to sleep she will usually go to sleep in about 10 to 15 minutes. This was recommended over medication from our doctor which is what we prefer. She still wakes up some nights but I don't think it has too much to do with the melatonin as it is with her. Overall I recommend this to help people sleep naturally without resorting to medication. I have two children which progressively had difficulty going to bed, their ages are 8 and 9. They would stay up several hours after their normal bed time of 9 pm. Our pediatrician suggested trying liquid melatonin rather than the pill for ease of administration. The melatonin works effectively, within an hour both of them are usually ready for bed. I have used the product for about 18 months and am very satisfied with the results. And, I have not observed any deleterious side effects. The dosage has been about one teaspoons per day.
