So, it's never in the way and the material would rather flop and fold than tip and spill. When closed, the drawstring actually keeps the chalk in so I no longer need to double bag it. The pile of the fleece inside is short, so your chalk doesn't get trapped. This is a simple, no frills chalk bag. And for something so simple, it's amazing how many companies get it wrong.
