Stay nimble on light and fast hikes with the Gregory Z40 technical pack. The Z40 is equipped with Gregory's CrossFlo DTS suspension system, which provides cooling airflow across your back while simultaneously transferring the load weight to your hips. To help the pack maintain its shape, Gregory added an Auto-Fit harness, which increases the stiffness of the frame as the load in the pack increases. And for occasions when dexterity is key, the pack includes side compression straps. The straps let you cinch down loads for jostle-free carrying, and double as lash points for bulky gear.
Storage-wise, the pack includes an easily accessible front pocket for stashing bulky gear, a zippered pocket in the top lid for small items, a second compartment on the underside for securing personal items, hip-belt pockets for storing snacks and sunscreen, mesh side pockets for water bottles or small electronics, and dual ice axe/tool attachment loops. Hydration is always a must for outdoor activities, which is why the Z40 includes an internal sleeve that accommodates a hydration reservoir (sold separately), with dual exit ports that allow you to route the drinking tube to either side of the pack. Finally, the pack includes a removable rain cover that stashes away in its own zippered pocket. The Z40 is available in medium and large sizes.

About Gregory Mountain Products
Wayne Gregory designed his first backpack at age 14 as part of a Boy Scout project. Shortly afterward, he met Andy Drollinger, the founder of San Diego California Adventure 16. Andy was so impressed with Wayne's design that he invited the Boy Scout to visit the Adventure 16 factory, where he began tinkering with a variety of backpack ideas. Wayne soon became the young company's second employee. Wayne opened his first company, Sunbird, in 1970, but dissolved it a few years later after expressing frustration with the limitations of external frame designs. He founded Gregory Mountain Products in 1977, eventually pioneering many firsts, including being the first to build backpacks in different frame, harness, and waist belt sizes; the first (and still only) pack manufacturer to develop a waist belt system that adjusts to fit different hip angles; and developing the center-locking bar tack, a stitch that ends and locks off on the center of a seam instead of the side for increased strength at major stress points. Gregory is located in Sacramento, California.

Gregory Z40 Technical Pack Reviews
| 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: This review is from: Gregory Z40 Technical Pack (Sports) This thing is pretty much the bomb of mid sized day packs! Even fully packed if feels like your hardly wearing anything on your back at all. It adjusts easily to fit your body, and is VERY comfortable. The hip belt is nice and padded without being in the way and the zippered pockets are easy to open/close even tho you can't really see them that well. The inside is nice and roomy, able to easily fit overnight gear. The pack is extremely well made and seems like it will last a long time.Overall I absolutely love this pack and I think you will too! |
