I already have all the benefits of internet apps with TiVo and Roku, didn't want 3D, have a good sound system, and only needed 2 of the 3 HDMI connections....so why pay for things you don't need or want? In addition, this 47" TV has many of the characteristics of previous LG models costing over $1000: Small external dimensions, light wight, 1080p picture, and low energy usage with LED lighting. The TV only has one component cable input that is shared with the composite input, so both cannot be used as a permanent connection, which could be a problem for some who may also want to connect an older TV component such as a VCR. Picture quality is great, using both the component and HDMI connections. Sound out the TV speakers is poor, but when connected to an external receiver via the TV's digital optical output, the sound is as good as can be expected, with surround sound out all 5 of my speakers. Of... If I am reviewing a Nissan Maxima, I am going to judge it differently than if I am reviewing a Ferrari 458 Spider. As such, I am reviewing this product for what it is: a low-cost, mid-level LED-LCD.After a great deal of research, both online and in the stores, I purchased the 47" LV4400 from LG on Black Friday. Like many, I opted to get it from Amazon thanks to the free shipping on Prime. Packaging: the box arrived in great shape, the TV was packed firmly in the styrofoam. All of the plastic on the TV was covered with a thin layer of wrapping to protect it from scratches in transit. Everything in the package was brand new. Assembly: the stand attached quickly with four screws. My 5' tall fiancee was able to attach the stand, then lift it onto our furniture (showing how easy and light it is). The TV stands on it firmly, with a little wobble if significant contact is made (as... People who complained about picture quality. There is nothing wrong with it. I have owned over 8 different tv sets with various name brands in the past 4 years and for the price i got this tv ($699) it is worth the money. Before you start complaining about it i suggest you learn to actually modify settings and all that. Also if you DO NOT have HD Cable or do not use the HDMI inputs for stuff then of course the picture quality isnt going to be GREAT, and this is for all tvs. If your not inputting HD pictures then the picture isnt going to be HD. Dont expect to use regular AV cables and basic cable to have awesome picture quality. Overall for the price of an LED 47" tv ranging in the $600-$700 range this tv will do the job. Highly recommended to use HDMI cables for it though. Hope this helps anyone. |
