I originally purchased them to be able to use an auto battery with an outdoor power equipment project where the cables to the battery just had ring terminals at the end. Just as would happen if this were a boat project, my options were:1) Get new battery cables with regular battery terminals at the ends 2) Get a new marine battery with marine terminals 3) Get these adapters Obviously, I chose option #3, which turned out to be an even better choice than I had expected. The adapters do exactly what you would expect - adapt regular battery terminals to accept marine-style ring terminated cables. What I didn't expect was how easy it would be to use. Unlike many dedicated marine batteries, these come with great plastic-coated and color-coded wing nuts on the studs, which make them easy to use even when it's cold and wet outside.
